Feeding my family expired food

I just came home from the grocery.  I ran across yogurt normally $2.50 a 6 pack, for $.97. The expiration date is 3 days away.   And there are 3 six pack of this yogurt.

I decided to get all 3 six packs.  I know there is no way I wil be able to eat all of it I the 2 days tills its suggested sale by date/ expiration date. But I figure if we eat one thing a day it will be gone in about 2 weeks.  And a few extra days won't hurt As long as I keep it in the frig.

Would you purchase food about to expire?

Freeze it. It's delicious that way.

It's an expiration date but in a lot of cases it's a estimated sale by date. Freeze some of it.

only if it was eaten that day.  when you get food poisoning you will wish you paid the 2.50.

I never buy food that's ready to expire. I have ibs and I am paranoid about things like that.

Most food is good a week after expiration date. My mom worked in a grocery store.

Check out this website its a great resource       http://www.eatbydate.com/

yogurt  will last 2-3 weeks past sell by date if it has fruit in it 1-2 weeks and if it is light yogurt 1-2 weeks.   You could also freeze it

We do it all the time. The only thing I won't do it with is milk...
