Mom tapes baby's pacifier to its mouth

I have never seen or heard of this before. The mom had a piece of surgical tape across the baby's pacifier and from cheek to cheek. She claimed her doctor told her to do it so when mom was driving, baby didn't spit the pacifier out and then scream.

We had to call cps. Have you ever even heard of this before? Yikes!

I caught my dd's bio father doing that when she was a few weeks old. Needless to say I flipped out and it was one of many reasons I left.

She could have suffocated. Dr. should have told her it is healthy for babies to cry. Not to plug her up.

Yes, I also heard the baby was able  to suck or bite the nipple off of it and choked.

That is HORRIBLE! That baby could suffocate if he/she got upset enough to have a stuffy noise! Damn crazy people!

That's awful. It could push it back into the babies mouth if they opened it big enough. Did CPs do anything?
