Mom Confessions Mom Confessions

I have really bad anxiety & take zanax. Im wondering if there is a natural supplement to take with it to help the anxiety more.

I currently take two .5 mg. A day, but it wears off. I don't want to take more BC I don't want to run out before my next prescription is filled. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Anyone ever ear of kava kava?

I second the use of buspar. I've seen how it helps PTSD veterans who weren't helped by benzodiazepines alone.

Quoting Anonymous:

My dr added Buspar to my anti depressant and my anxiety went from a constant 7/8 to about a 1. It's much safer than Xanax also, non habit forming.

Call your doctor, let them know what's going on with you.

OK, thx u!

Quoting HelloSweetie:

the crushed/ground works best. Makes you relaxed if you take a drop, asleep if you take a few drops.

Have you tried breaking the xanax up into halves so you don't get the rebound effect? That can actually cause withdrawal symptoms in between doses.
Im biased, Xanax almost ruined my life, while taking the dose I was prescribed. I stopped cold turkey 5 months ago when I found out I was pregnant and had 2 insane months of withdrawals. If you take 5mg a day, try and bust it into 4 doses, with the higher one at the worst time of day for you.

I take one in the morning and one in afternoon or as needed.

Your recipe sounds good. What form of Valerian root do you use?

How does it make you feel?

Quoting HelloSweetie:

How do you take them throughout the day?

Try making a Valerian root tincture.  You mix equal parts Valerian root and 100% vodka in a mason jar and cap it off for 6-8 weeks, strain and bottle. Take a drop at a time.

Also- magnesium supplements.
