I have a brain tumor, HELP!!

I was recently diagnosed with a tumor on my pituitary gland, I have only seen my regular doctor so I was not given much info yet, I should see a specialist next week. He told me I could have surgery ( they would go up my nose and get it, not through my skull) or maybe just meds. I did a little research but not much bc I know google is scary lol, Its more common than I thought, about 20% of ppl have it and dont know, I went in bc I have not had a period since I had my son 9 months ago, no sex drive, and horrible migraines that make the vision in my right eye decrease. I will probably have surgery bc its affecting me. Anyways now that I am done rambling, has anyone ever heard of this, or went through this before. Is there any support groups on here for this kind of thing, I have 3 kids, work full time, full time student, wife, everything lol so i am STRESSED!! any advice or info is very appreciated! Thank u :)

Yes, one of my best friends mom went to her doctor for symptoms you are describing. She ended up dining herself to the ER and was ediagnosed with brain cancer

I have it. It's called prolactinoma. I take meds to shrink mine. If it doesn't work then I will opt to have the surgery.

Lol...I know ALL about the weight gain :( I've had mine for a few years now, was just diagnosed last year. When I take the meds every night like I'm supposed to it worked great! I had a choice between Parlodel, which I take once a day at bedtime (puts me to sleep) or one (can't remember the name) that you take once a week.

My uncle is actually have brain surgery tomorrow to remove a brain tumor. Doctors say they are 90% sure it is not cancer. Do your research on different hospitals and surgeons. I would see a specialist before next week and get a move on things.

I was already on Topamax for my migraines, Adderall for ADHD, and effexor for bi-polar...so my migraines are under control, my weight isn't. You should see an endocrinologist next. Then usually every 3 months you get your blood drawn to check your prolactin levels. I have an MRI every 6 months to make sure it's shrinking. So far I've had 2. It hasn't shrunk, but that's bc I don't take the meds regularly.

So the meds worked ok for you? You wont need surgery? Did u loose weight also? Im so worried that meds will just give me more side effects that I wont like :/ Im 25 and i feel 40 most days, I also have fibro and hypothyroid so im sure those play a role there also, I just can not wait to be some what healthy again!! Thanks for the replies :)
