Tell them the truth. They are old enough to know especially with kids already having sex by that age.

At 10 you need to tell them its a adult thing. Geesh let kids stay innocent as long as you can. This world is going to hell in a hand basket.

Uh. I'm all for honesty, but I'd start with where he heard that word.

My first thoughts to say I wouldnt 10s too young but then I think 12 year olds are popping out babies now days. Id explain it in the least graphic way possible. Id also ask where they heard it.

I wouldn't be explaining that to a 10 yr old.

I'd start off by asking where they heard it and ask them what THEY think it is/means. Then go from there. Maybe you'll get lucky and they won't have any idea what it is or maybe have misinterpreted it somehow. But, in the event he/she does know a little bit about it, I would be sure to explain that it's a type of sex that adults sometimes use and that it isn't something that "everyone does". I'd also be sure to explain that you can still catch diseases that way. Good Luck!

Ask where it was heard.
Tell them its something only grownups do when they love each other very much and its not for kids to be talking about, but they can talk about it with you if they hear something that confuses them. Its reallt importsnt to let them know they can ask/tell you ANYTHING and they won't get into trouble for saying it, even if they think it might be rude.

If they've heard it from a child claiming they've done it, consider taking further action.
