Helmet laws

Not for motorcycleists. But for children on bikes, scooters, skateboards, etc.

Do you think they should exsist or should children and parents have the free will to choose to wear one or not?

My kids were riding on their scooters the other day. On the side walk and I was walking right behind them. I got stopped by the military police and scolded for a good 15 min. They are 7 and 4 how fast can they push themselves. Haha. Just makes me a bit upset that I can't choose when I feel my children should wear their helmet or not.

They don't have to be going fast to sustain a significant head injury.

Exactly this. Concrete+head=not good results.

Guess I'm just the product of my upbringing. Before laws were in place. I fell a lot being dumb and never had a bad thing happen.

I mean really my kids were going less than 2 mph. In that case kids should have to wear helmets at all times while playing outside.

Helmet laws for kids DO exist in many states and should be enforced.   Good for the MP, at least he was concerned enough to let you know the importance of a helmet.    May be when we were growing up had there been helmet laws we wouldn't have as many stupid adults today.

I agree with you on this to an extent. I don't think there should be laws about it, but my child wears a helmet anyway.

I NEVER wore a helmet as a child

My 4 year old always does, law or no
