So sad :(

So around a week ago at work (I work in a playground at a grocery store) I was talking to a little girl who was a regular. She is about 5-7 years old - I would guess 6 if I had to. Her grandma always brings her in. Anyway, I asked her what she did over the weekend and she said she watched movies with her nana and papa.
I'm going to school to be a child and youth care worker. It's almost like a social worker/therapist/psychologist all wrapped up into one. So I tend to ask a lot of questions because that's what I'm trained to do just not in this job. This is how the conversation went:
"Do you live with your nana and papa"
"Yes. But i get to go back to my mommy soon"
"Do you miss your mom?"
" yes. I still remember when I had to leave her house I was very very sad."
"Do you still get to see her?"
"Yes I saw her yesterday. Mommy and nana have to have a fight over who gets me"

She talked the whole time like she was telling me her favourite colour or something :( it was sad to me.

I mean asking if her mom is a drugged up whore is one thing asking if she misses her is another.

Get used to it. I'm a teacher. Some of the stuff kids will tell you breaks your heart. I have come home sobbing more than once. On the other end they will also tell you the funniest things. Like how their mom's underwater has a front, but no back.
