Is 10-12 plus size?

I was reading an article that stated sizes 10-12 are "plus size". I have many friends who wear those sizes and don't look "plus size" at all...they're all at least 5'5" though.

What do you think?

It's right on the verge. I don't think a 10 is, but I do think a 12 is.

I think that it depends on the person. I wear a 10-12 and don't feel plus sized at all:

I'm not sure...depends on height I guess? When I was a 10-12 I looked huge. I am only 5'2

In the fashion industry yes, one of the reasons if vanity sizing! So a size 10 May in reality be a 14 and a 12 a.16.

Clothing industries generally consider around 8 and above to be "plus size," though it is usually no indicator of weight. A six foot tall woman can be super lean and wear a 10 or 12, but put that 10 on someone who is barely 5 feet, and she's chunky. Or really buff. I'm 5'3 and was a size 12 when I weighed 170. Some of it was muscle (I was in marching band and color guard at the time and could leg press about 400 lbs) but I was still overweight.

Yeah, that is very true. I forgot about the snobby fashion industry.

No. It depends on the person, their height, body type, body fat percentage. People became fixated on numbers. The number they weigh, the number of their clothing size. A woman who is 5 feet and wears a 10 is going to look much different than a woman who is 6 feet and wearing the same size. And women of the same height and weight can look totally different. This is not a yes or no answer.
