Batman graphic novels/comics

I am going birthday shopping for my daughter. She loves Batman and comics.

She prefers a darker toned graphic novel, so I am on a search for Batman. Do you know anyone who may know? I want it to be a surprise for her, so asking is out of the question.

My DD is an Avengers/Spider-Man girl.

I personally LOVE LOVE LOVE Willingham's Fables series.

Yeah, she's not as into Marvel. I think she likes Batman so much, because he can die. Lol.

Like I said. She's really dark.

DS thinks Deadpool is hilarious. Kind of gross-out, sophomoric humor, but it's his money. But he also likes The Rocketeer, which is classic comic book style.

I read The Dream Merchant and The Dresden Files, and DD reads Dr Who.

If you want dark, go with Sandman by Neil Gaiman, or V for Vendetta or Watchmen by Alan Moore. They're all pretty epic and very dark.
