When my daughter starts irritating me I turn on the ceiling fan...

My dd is 16 months old...

I'm pregnant.
Possibly with twins..we'll find out Monday..

My daughter has been getting kind of fussy and crabby. And has starting having little fits..

I'm vomiting around the clock...I've even hospitalised twice for dehydration...

I feel like crap all the time.

Sometimes my stomach hurts so bad that I can't even really move.

So what ive been doing when I can't fully function properly, and she gets crabby/bored (I think the crabbiness is from being bored.) I turn the ceiling fan on.

She'll follow it with her finger and say "round and round and round and round and round"

Or lay under it and move her legs in a circle and say "round and round and round and round."

Or chase it in a circle and say "round and round and round and round and round"

Yesterday I spent twenty minutes laying under it with her counting how many times it went "round and round and round and round".

And thank god that worked. I was vomiting so much yesterday I spend half the day sitting on the bathroom floor.

What weird things do you do to occupy your kids?

If I put her in front of the mirror in the bedroom shell look in it and talk to herself for an hour....

If I draw a kitty on her arm, she'll spend an hour talking to it and petting it...

Spray bottles. Ds likes to go out on the patio and spray things, he's three.

My brother use to do that. Mom would just give him a spray bottle of water and he'd be set..

I have a 15 month old and am 31 weeks pregnant so when she gets like that I tip her upside down. Over the couch, not sure why but she seems to like that.

Watering can and tell them to water things. Hours of peace.

1 mom liked this

yep I gave my kid the swiffer duster a cloth and a water bottle and a pretend vaccum, my house was spotless and he was occupied for 6 straight hrs. He even folded the laundry and put it away....He likes to play house ALOT lol Now if I could convince the other peeps in my house that its really a fun game.

At that age, pots and pans, measuring cups and spoons were all they needed to stay occupied for hours.

neat idea. my kids would like that and they're 5 and 6.

i have no advice for a toddler. when mine were that age i was not sick and pregnant so i just took them out of the house when they were driving me nuts.

these days i give them chores or have them do a pencil drawing of something they see in a book or read to them or let them play a video game. those things all keep them interested for a long time.
