Thanks to the B at the park my son feels horrible. He was telling a little boy at the park about school starting school and about how he can't wait. Which lead the little boys mother and me talking.
She asked if he is my first and if I'm ready for him to go to school.
I'm terrified of him going to school. His allergies are not life threatening, YET. The nurse, front office, and teacher will all have an epi pen for him just in case.
The only nut he isn't allergic to is almonds. He is also allergic to eggs and shellfish. Shellfish isn't a big fear for school.
So this b, said loud enough for both kids to hear, that he should never go to a public school and kids like him should not be allowed in public school. Which made my son feel bad. He didn't choose these allergies. He doesn't like being allergic to things either.
How else is going to learn him how to care for his allergies and deal with handling himself around his allergies? We don't have anything he is allergic to in the house, it's just easier to avoid the allergies to just unlimited at them and not work with them at all.
He already knows he can't take food from other kids and not to eat any snacks that someone else made.
He was all excited about going to school, now he doesn't want to go because he doesn't want the other kids to hate him.
