My husband and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary yesterday, we were getting ready for a nice dinner. My son Ash (6 years old) and I had an interesting conversation...

Ash: (steps on the bathroom scale) I'm getting big.

Me: yes you are, you're growing up so fast.

Ash: Mom you step on the scale too. (I should have not but did anyway). Wow mom,
you weigh alot, like 100 lbs more than me.

Me: Thanks, I'm an adult. Someday you will get big too.

Ash: Yeah I will, I'm going to be strong.

Me: yes, you are.

Ash: Mom, why does your tummy look like that?

Me: Mommy, has had a baby and things just don't look the same after mommy's have babies.

Ash: my tummy is flat. Why is your belly button hiding?

Me: Like I said, when mommy's have babies, nothing is where they were.

Ash: your tummy has lots of lines too..

Me: yeah (getting annoyed)

Ash: Your tummy is squishy too.

Me: I love you...Go away...(Ash leaves)

Kaydenze (DD 9years old): Mommy your beautiful!

my DD calls me fat sometimes.  she will make comments about how big my butt is and how big my belly is.... they are kids, they dont really understand it's not polite to say that even to their moms.
