Kissing Newborns?

I personally don't like anyone but my dh and I doing it. I was this way with my ds and dd. Ds of course was allowed to kiss dd when she was born. I will probably be the same way with the unborn. The conversation came about while I was texting with a friend and she thinks I'm being unreasonable. I don't think I am.

How do you feel about family(other than your spouse or children) and friends kissing your newborns on the face? Did you allow it? Why or why not?

I have no problem with my family kissing my newborn. Its a non issue for us.
They are already breathing on them kissing isn't adding anymore germs to baby. But I'm also the kind of person that isn't afraid to expose my baby to "regular" germs.

It's disgusting. It is my baby and no one else is going to kiss him.

Nobody but family should kiss a newborn on the lips! Or kiss your kids at all really.

Doesn't bother me in the least.   Baby cheeks are meant to be kissed a billion times.

Don't see what the big deal is.  Newborns tend to evoke strong feelings of love, wheather they are yours or not.  The way to teach children about love and affection is to give it to them.
