Mom Confessions Mom Confessions

May be a dumb question.....but what does this mean?

So we rented a storage unit today. My DH went down to sign the papers. The rent $129 a month. He brought back the bill and the total charge was $149. There was an administraton fee of $12 (he says they didn't tell him about it). It's not a huge deal but I am wondering if this is an every month thing. I checked the contract and it says

"Concurrently with the execution of this Rental Agreement, occupant shall pay to Owner $12.00 as a non refundable new account Administration Fee."

Based on the wording, do you think this something that will be charged every month or just a one time fee?

It sounds like it's a one time thing.

I think it may just be a one time fee for any possible damage or use of the storage unit. I would call the storage unit place just to make sure though.

Seems like it would only be once.

That should just be a one time fee since it does say concurrently (meaning at the same time of) with the execution of the agreement and it is a new account fee. It is basically to pay for the set up for the unit.

so if the rent was 129 and theres a 12 dollar fee, where's the other 8 dollars?
