Personally, I believe in teaching kids safety rather that "stay away" - as in, how to recognize warning signs in dogs or cats, how to use fire safely, etc.....so if I knew that I knew what I was doing in that situation, yes, I would teach them how to handle it.

DS wants one really bad, so do I actually, they are beautiful! But expensive, and right now I don't want anymore pets.
