Breastfeeding moms, an honest question

I see a lot of bfing moms talk about how they actually get more sleep than if they bottle fed because they just get baby latched and go back to sleep. What I'm wondering is, how is that safe? Not trying to be an asshole, I mean it as a legit question. How does one sleep and bf safely? Is there a method or do you literally fall asleep where you sit/lay? I wasn't able to bf so I really don't know. When I feed my son his bottles he's in my lap in basically the cradle position and I wouldn't feel at all comfortable or safe falling asleep that way.

I cradled them in my arm. It's just cosleeping.

It's called the laying position. We bed share so it's really no different for us

Lay baby on the boppy pillow and slightly recline. Voila.

Or the side-lying position.

I don't consider cosleeping to be safe without a "sidecar" or cosleeper of some kind. Not bashing anyone, it's my opinion for my child.

You can side lay and BF

I use to get up a BF because my son wouldn't nurse sideways >.< I still fell asleep on the chair I was so stinkin' tired those first few months.

There are many studies that say it is safe. Look up dr sears on co sleeping, he has great info.
