Holy s*** this is serious

Ok so I went to the ER today due to extreme back pain, vomiting, 102 fever, and shaking. They ran tests and informed me I need to be admitted. I have a very serious kidney infection that might have gone to my blood. They took seven vials of blood and of course my urine. I was given morphine and zofran. I'm still in tons of pain.

Anyone ever had this before??

I used to get really bad kidney infections when I was pregnant with DD2 but it never spread to my blood stream :( I remember the back pain was horrible. And it would always trigger contractions.

That's scary! It's a good thing you went in when you did.

I did. It did go to my blood. I had a congenital kidney disease. My artery grew on top of my urethra tube and blocked it all up. they took my kidney out, cut it down to 10% the size, flipped it and put it back. It just drains to help out the other healthy kidney. The pain was terrible. I hope you get to feeling better soon.

1 mom liked this

Yes. It started as a UTI, but I let it go untreated. It was 3 years ago and I was 19. I passed out in the bathroom and my mom ended up finding me. She gave me a spongebath, because I was so out of it and then took me to the ER. The freakin nurse actually told my mom that if left untreated for a couple more hours, then I would have died. I was in the hospital for 3 days and was so drugged up.
