I have to finance my own baby shower

My best friend told me she was throwing me a baby shower when she found out I was pregnant. I was cool with that but just last week she tells me she is broke and I would have to pay for everything. I could have made arraignments to get help throwing the shower if she would have told me this last month but I have to push it back a week and pushing it back puts a strain on me. My dd's birthday party is the weekend after my baby shower so unless I can get some help or convince my mama to help throw the shower I won't be having it or ill have to just get my dd a cake and take her to the park and let her play. It's so fustrating because its always something with her.

I don't give a crap if you think having a second baby shower is tacky. I don't see why I can't celebrate this baby as well.

Let me set the record straight I didn't want a baby shower. She wanted to throw the shower and if she hasn't of said she wanted to do it my mom would have done. Yes I'm a little upset because instead of her saying I may need a little help throwing it can you ask your mom if she'll help she just tells me oh yea even though its a month away you'll have to pay for everything. I CAN EASILY GET THE THINGS MY BABY NEEDS AND WHERE I STAY BABY SHOWERS ARE FOR EVERY BABY.

You have a child already and are having another baby shower?

It's tacky to have a baby shower for the second born anyway!

Youn don't have to have a shower, but your daughter would remember not having a b-day party!

Ridiculous.  She should be asking some of the invitees for help if she's in that short of money.

I'd say your kid's birthday party should trump your desire to have your friends buy you gifts. Buy your own shit.

Why shouldn't I celebrate this baby as well? Just because its my second child doesn't mean anything
