Had enough of our nosy neighbor!

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post

So my family moved into our house a year ago and right away we noticed the old guy who lives right next to us is always watching what everyone in the neighborhood is doing. He calls the housing authority nonstop about the stupidest stuff. He has been here for 15 years so they listen to whatever he tells them.  We were forced to get rid of our dog because he kept complaining about him barking when every single dog (including his) on this street barks daily. But he still sits on his porch daily and looks over the fence and watches everything we do on our property. The last few weeks I have seen him standing so he can actually look INTO our house when our curtains are open. I have had enough of it! I feel like can't even open my curtians because then he will stand there looking into my windows and watching my son play. Does anyone have any ideas to get him to stop?

So I talked to my hubby and told him how I caught the guy just standing there watching our son play with a toy today through the open curtain. We have decided to buy some privacy film and apply it to the three large windows on that side of the house and then call the local sheriff and the housing authority and make a complaint.

Unless the dog barks at ungodly hours in the middle of the night, I don't see how they can make you give up the dog. As far as he is concerned, I'd file one complaint after the other against him for everything I can find. And the next time he's looking in my windows, I'd flick him off.

Yes . . . start filming him watching your house and let him know you are adding him to a porn movie called My neigbor Gets Off On Watching Me Pee! and make sure to tell him thanks for all his assistance with the prior footage, That yes you know he wasn't aware BUT that you got some great shots of him peering over the fence looking into YOUR winows and the investors love his creepy look!

LMAO

trust me it will work like a charm!

I was in my new place for two days when my neighbor complained to the office about my dog barking (while I wasn't home so I had NO clue) and we ended up having to rehome him. Well that same neighbor brought him an unregistered puppy who is already over the weight limit and howls CONSTANTLY. I gave him six weeks to adjust (because I'm not a bitch) THEN I sent in a complaint. Came home a couple days ago and they were moving their stuff out.... I think I got them evicted.

What state do you live in?  In California there is a long process before the city makes you get rid of your dog even when he is being a real nuisance.   And I have a few ideas about making your awful neighbor stop the behavior.

1-Raise the fence.

2- Tint your windows (specially the ones that go to his side)

3- If the windows were he peeks in  are hit by the sun, go to the dollar store and buy little mirrors and paste them to the walls around your window so they reflect the sun and blind him.

4-buy private courtains, the ones that let light trough but wont let people see in.

5- Mimic his behavior.  For a week, do exactly what he does, and call the housing and report him for every single tinny thing he does wrong.

6- Sit on your yard and quietly be ready to snap pictures of him when he is "peeking in"  and make a report to the police that he is stalking you.  Maybe you can even put a restriction order against him.

The housing authority kept threatening to fine my landlord and so the landlord made us get rid of the dog. Like I said the old guy has been here for years so the housing authority listens to whatever he says. Our dog was inside at night.

Put up a long mirror so when he looks in he sees himself.

it depends on the result you are looking for.  if you are going to stay there?  i would find a way to apologize and start over again.  brownies or a pie always work.  it sounds like he is used to having some shady characters around and he is fearful.  maybe he misunderstands some of the things that you do.  i would write him a letter.  kill him with kindness...and pie.
