My unpopular opinion about SAHMs

I feel that if you stay at home full time, then you should drive your kids to school. Part of your duty as a sahm mom includes taking your kid to school. If you put your kid on the bus, then you are laaaazy.

Now of course, there are exceptions. If you don't have a car, etc.

I think you are wasteful if a bus drives past your house daily but insist on using more gas to drive the kids to school.

Nope.  My job as a sahm is to raise self confident, INDEPENDENT adults. Who can get themselves where they need to go.  Hence - they rode the school bus.  And when they got older, they drove themslves.

I was a SAHM for 7 years and I rarely drove my kids to school. Hell, I rarely left the house because I was saving on the cost of fuel since we were a single income family.

Is waking up, getting them ready, packing their lunch and getting them to the bus stop on time not enough for you?

There are no buses at my son's school, so I would have to drive him even if I worked outside the home.
