I'm looking for a new brand of diet cat food for my cat.

ive been sucked into buying the veterinarian recommended brand which is $50 and lasts about 6 weeks.

If you have used any that worked for your cat please share!

I was going to suggest the bags of i/d you can get from the vet but they're pretty expensive. Maybe science diet or something? They're all going to be pretty expensive

Blue buffalo weight control. It helped my fatty cat.

This may be a stupid question, but can't you just feed it less of the regular food?

The thing is we have been using these for 8 years, she's still plump at 11.2 lbs. but she's a Maine coon and they are bigger to begin with...dh is complaining her food is too expensive

I finally found a cat food that all 3 of my cats can eat...I have one fat cat, one who throws up grains and one old man, haha...it's expensive, but it works!

I'm no help...$35 for 3 weeks...I'd say your brand is really cheap!

I used to feed mine Science Diet........Purina O.N.E. is also good.  Does the cat have health issues or just need low fat food?

I feed mine Purina O.N.E. and for 2 cats, it costs $25 a mo.

I would recommend a high quality food like Natures Variety that is grain free.

$50 for 6 weeks?

That's a bargain.

We use Blue Buffalo.

The best thing you can feed a cat is actual meat. Chicken is the best for them. Meat is mainly all protein and that's what they need. My vet even actually recommends cooking up chicken and feeding it to the cat.
