I know someone this has happen too. He also shut off her cell phone. His reasoning was because she wasn't paying the bills but instead was paying bills for her family. He also cancelled all credit cards as well. she has just enough in the joint account to pay their bills and for food and gas.

she also wasn't buying necessary stuff for the kids.

I agree .

I agree too. I would have kept a cell phone for her but a prepaid one like Straighttalk. If she cannot manage their money and NOT pay everyone elses bills while not providing what is neccesary for her own children then she does not need unlimited access to their money and credit cards.

My husband can't take my money away because its my money, my savings in my account. However if he's earning the money, if I were to abuse it and spend it on whatever I wanted and wasn't taking care of our family, then I fully understand cutting them off. That marriage also needs to be worked on.
