My husband and I have been going to a couple's counselor for a few months now. It has been helping us as a couple to get along better but I've decided to separate from my husband. Reason is, he won't get a job. He's been out of work for a year now. He us up all night watching tv and asleep all day till noon. He has no desire and drive to take care and provide for his family. I want to kick him out of the house. I'm sick of his excuses and blaming others for his laziness. We have 3 boys together and I dont want to think this is how a man is supposed to be. The counselor things im being materialistic and my husband loves me so that should be enough. I do love him but I need him to step up and take care if us. My income alone isn't enough. What would you do? Woukd you leave your husband for not working?

My husband had a good job but he got laid off over a year ago.

Your therapist is a shitty therapist.

First of all, your therapist doesn't "think" anything.  She's trying to get you and your husband to communicate better, get perspective, and cope appropriately.

Maybe your therapist is bedding him herself.

She has helped us with that. But she doesn't agree with me leaving my husband.

I have. Many many times. He says ok then goes back to watching tv.

Because she's trying to get you and your husband to fix your problems, not run.

Lol. If that's the case, I dont think she would have told me not to leave him.
