My 6yr old made dinner.

I just had foot surgery and my dh hates to cook. So while he took the boy to the store for some stuff I somewhat assisted my 6yr old in he kitchen. She followed my instructions and recipe and she did a great job. She moves a little slow but that's ok since nothing burned.
She made meatloaf, instant potatoes, and green beans.
Yes I know it's instant, meatloaf is easy, and you just heat up green beans. We're talking about a 6yr old and I bought stuff intentionally for the ease of it. We'll work our way up to real meals. In a minute when I can stand again she's going to make some quinoa for tomorrow too. She also did a load of laundry today. She's an awesome kid and always wants to help out.

I just wanted to brag a bit. Anybody else have a super helper around the house?

My daughter is due in Dec. My son likes helping when we go shopping and he's enjoyed helping with organizing his sister's stuff. That's about it.

Instant or not that's a good job for a 6 year old.

She measured the water and set it on the stove. I turned it on and added the potatoes when it boiled. Easy chief. She was safe the whole time. I just can't maneuver around the kitchen right now.

My younger two will wipe baseboards and my son loves taking out the trash. Although sometimes he makes more of a mess than it's worth. He tries so hard though.
