Mom Confessions Mom Confessions

two of my three kids were admitted to the hospital last month

My dd6 had her tonsils and adenoids removed and got dehydrated. She weighed 44 pounds arty the time of surgery and when I took her in on Sunday per doctors orders she was 41 pounds. She was in our children's hospital for 3 days from the 4th till late on the 7th. Her surgery was on the 2nd.

My older dd10 had something wrong with her knee and it spread to her heel. She was in the children's hospital from the 27th until the 31st while they were running several tests and procedures to pinpoint what was wrong with her. Finally, they figured out that she has a rare condition called crmo or chronic reoccurring multi focal osteomyelitis, which effects one in a million. She also had surgery to get both fluids and bone for biopsy. We currently are awaiting a final pathology report on that.

So, being that my kids both stayed for more than one day, does that make me sound like a bad mother?

No, it just sounds like you guys had a run of bad luck. How are they now?

Thanks. My dd6 is healed completely. She is still lacking a couple pounds. She seems to be stuck at 42 pounds but we are working on gaining that weight back.

My dd10 is completely pain free which is awesome!! Considering she's been in pain since the 20th of July. She is on a high dose antibiotic to heal the infection, which they are treating like staph. She still is on crutches, but her swelling is significantly better and she can hop on her toes. She still can't beat weight on her heel though. The orthopedic doctor doesn't want her to just yet. Her follow up appointment with both specialist and her pediatrician are Wednesday so hopefully we will know more then.

Ok I can see her point BUT only if they were always in the hospital because of a broken arm or burns. Your kids aren't hurt because they are being roughed up or are out of control getting hurt but because they have actual needs to be there and conditions that required attention.
