Apparently a lesbian couple wanted a wedding cake from sweet cakes by Melissa. The owners politely refused the order because they are Christians and run their business accordingly. They have stated they have no ill will towards homosexuals but they couldn't be a part of something they didnt support (gay marriage). The LGBT then went on an all out attack against the cake shop and even went so far as to threaten other shops with protests if they supported the bakery.
ETA: there are anti discrimination laws in oregan apparently. I saw where there was an investigation concerning discrimination but didnt know that this was because of actual laws set in place. I in no way puropsfully ommited that, and honestly didnt even remember that when i was trying to do a quick recount of the articles i read. I still don't agree with the way the lgbt community hypocritically handled this though. They complain about ppl mistreating them but they in turn do the same to anyone that doesn't agree.
So the moral of the story? Gay rights trump religious rights, and the lgbt doesn't stand for true acceptance or tolerance. It only stands for it when it's supporting them.
Oddly enough I couldn't find any liberal news articles that covered this story. They have turned a blind eye to the bullying of this home town business
