DD is in trouble with the school. She was caught posting harassing text messages and Facebook posts about a classmate. While I have grounded her from everything, I am mad at the school for the ISS. She did this using her cell phone and laptop that I PAY FOR NOT THE SCHOOL. the school shouldn't be punishing her. Her parents should be.

Most schools have similar policies, this is not surprising

Take ot up with the school. Parents and students sign off acknowledging rules. Dont like the rule? Work to change it

I don't see a problem with the school punishing her and hope she stops

Would you rather they call and have the cops handle the telecommunications harrassment?

Your dd could face fines and jail time.  I'd accept the ISS.

1. She was on school property, during school hours.

2. She was discussing another student at the school (apparently).

3. Most schools have a similar policy.

4. She should get into trouble BOTH at school AND at home.

No, she doesn't take her phone to school.

So the school should have done nothing? She was bullying her class mate. I am not surprised they punished her, nor would I be upset
