my 5 year old stabbed a kid with a plastic knife

I'm at wits' end. He has sensory processing d/o and potentially other things, though no one is willing to diagnose him or give me guidance. We eliminated all artificial dyes and began him on a low dose of melatonin. He can finally sleep more than 45 minutes at. Time and the catastrophic melt downs have all but disappeared. However, no matter what consequence we impose, he does not care. I'm afraid he'll be kicked out of kindergarten at this rate.
1) we are consistent. We use the same behavior chart his school does with appropriate rewards and consequences.
2) we have talked EXTENSIVELY about bullying and why it's so wrong.

Why isn't anyone willing to diagnose him?  Has he been tested for anything other than a processing disorder?

Geez,I don't know what to say about that! Seems you are doing discipline. Maybe he needs to see a psychologist

That's potentially sociopathic behavior. I would keep trying doctors until you find one willing to run the necessary tests to diagnose his behavior.

Maybe it's psychopathy.

Or maybe I'm watching too much Law & Order: SVU...

What does he think of being kicked out? I'm honestly surprised he is still allowed at school.

Uh he stabbed a kid. I'd sue you. That alone is a reason to get him help somewhere.

Sometimes the only thing that works for children who don't appreciate consequences is for them to get a little bit of what they are dishing out.
I worked in a preschool and one boy would reach out and pinch everyone, for no reason. He didn't care what you did to punish him he would keep on pinching.
One day he pinched a new boy and the boy reached out and pinched him right back even harder and miraculously the boy stopped pinching!
I wanted to throw the new boy a party!!!!
