Not all day but DD is in Kindergarten and when she comes home I have her doing about 10 1st & 2nd grade problems. She's really ahead and I do it to keep it that way.

1 mom liked this

I teach constantly there is something to learn in every experience. Even watching tv can be a learning experience. Going to the beach, going for walks literally everything you do can be turned into a teachable moment. I do not teach out of books or other forms while at home they get enough of that type of learning at school.

Learning is something that naturally happens all the time. As far as structured learning goes, we do 2 hours a day.

If you stress e ducation too much your LO may learn to hate school. Children learn by play. Play is learning.

3 Hours is great. what do you do to have her learn something.

That's why I go above and beyond with DD. They do common sense things in Kindergarten that I believe are way too easy for DD. I wish I could have her skip grades but she has a speech impendiment that we are working on so I doubt she could if we tried. I wish that wasn't holding her back.
