Ds had a slight fever all day and he just woke up and I gave him more Advil. In a few hours can I give him benadryl too so he sleeps better? I know its a dumb question but I don't want to give it if I can't, he's just really uncomfortable. Any suggestions would help. And he's 2.

They can be taken together, but giving Benadryl just for sleep is not recommended, especially that young.

Pedi recommended give it to him last time he was sick so he could sleep comfortably but he didn't have a fever then.

You can give them together but doctor will recommend alternating probably.

EDIT I just saw his age... idk if there is an otc medicine for 2 yo. Doctor really does not even like to prescribe medicine for a child that age... atleast not my dd old doctor. :-/

The benadryl bottle says not to give it to make a child sleep. Sometimes it does the opposite of making a child drowsy. But they should be able to be used together.

They don't contain the same drug. So as long as your Dr says Benadryl is ok (not marketed for that young) they're ok to give together. I've mixed them and have then in the same medicine dropper to make it easier.
