I had a neighbor ask me to babysit last night.
Her 4 dd came over and had dinner with us and watching a movie with my girls. They watched Veggie Tales, which is a Christian cartoon.

When she picked up her dd I told her what we did and how we watched a movie.
She flipped! She told me she was atheist and I "crossed the line."
Uh, she knows my family is active in the church and my dad is sn Elder. She knows bc I have told her in passing "oh I'm on my way to the church bake sale/car wash."
Ive told her that my kids will go to the school tge church runs etc.
I feel bad that I upset her. However, her belief was never brought up.
Wwyd?

So it seems that i was not in the wrong. She knows my beliefs. I will speak to her and let her know again i was not trying to be rude. I will also let her know that if she is around she may be exposed to my Christian beliefs.
Thanks for the input ladies!!

I think it's stupid, but I wouldn't be 'mad'. It's no different for us than Grimm's fairy tales.

I wasn't preaching to her dd or anything. We just watched a movie.
I don't see the big deal either.

I think she's overreacting.. It's not like you sat around doing bible study.

Lol I think all cartoons are kinda stupid. It was "where is God when I am scared?"

I'd apologize for offending her, and promise if her kids were ever over again, I'd avoid movies like that.

Sure, she might've gone a little overboard, but they're her kids. If your kids were at her house and she put on an athiest movie, wouldn't it upset you?

There are worse things in life. I'd apologize and move on. She's your neighbor. Might as well not start World War 3.

I thought it was common knowledge to keep your beliefs to yourself unless you are certain that your beliefs are shared. I just delt with this last night. The neighbor kid, 10 year old boy, and I were talking about the head statues on Easter island and how no one knows for sure how the ppl moved them around. He asked me, "Do you think they were made around jesus's time and they had a goliath to help them move it." I wanted to laugh, but instead I just said I don't know.

Ugh... That would annoy me. I wouldn't watch her kid anymore. You weren't harming her child. Veggies Tales is a Christian based cartoon, but mainly all they do is try and instill morals... Who would have issues with that?

Ikr?! I don't force my belief system on anyone. I told her that it was never my intention to start conflict.
