DS's text books this year are American.  No biggy, except it's social studies and grammar studies and we are Canadian.

American grammar and spelling is different than ours, and social studies I am not sure how it applies.

Ds just got an assignment explaining the states make up a country.  We do not have states here, we have provinces.

Would you say something?

I wrote a note on the assignment that just said "Why the American books? We are Canadian and these do not apply well."

*I am not sure why the confusion, there is no history class involved.  DS is in grade 3, if there was history, it still would make no sense, they have not learned Canadian history yet. I don't think it makes sense for them to learn about America before our own Country, if hisotry was the subject, which it is not.

We learn diff histories. Us history, world history, and so on. Why would you assume all of his history classes be on canada?
