Just curious what my fellow Cafemomers think of this. Just a simple yes, no or undecided.

Tonight, Obama will address our nation with the intent to convince us (the citizens) that striking Syria is a good idea. Whether it is or not, I'm interested in what he says.

Did you feel the same about Iraq?

Quoting Anonymous:

Have you guys seen the photos of what they have done to their own people?  Something needs to be done.  And I don't trust Putin.

I thought Syria just agreed to surrender their chemical weapons to Russia. If that's the case then NO... we already did our part by threatening them and got what we wanted.

I just saw that Russia has withdrew that request? No clue wtf is going on now.

Then why did she say she trusts what our leaders decide?

Quoting Anonymous:

Because we the people are not being told the entire story by the media.

A lot of those photos and videos being used are not recent nor from Syria. Also, we don't know that it was the government using chemical weapons. There is a lot of speculation that it was Al Qaida or another rebel group. This is the problem - we don't have facts, only what our govt./media wants us to think.

This was the belief at the beginning of hitler's genocide as well..........

Same rings true for Rwandan genocide. As well as the atrocities committed in the republic of Congo.

We have INTERNATIONAL LAWS for a reason. When those laws are broken we DO need to step in. That's why the UN was formed.

Quoting momma-moo:

Do I think we should intervene in other countries' civil wars that don't directly involve us? No. He will lie about the real intent of our invasion of syria all for political gain...what a surprise.
