My friend is disabled and expecting a baby any day now. Her husband is going to use the FMLA to take some leave, but said the company should let men take paid paternity leave since women there get 6wks paid maternity leave.

Should men get paternity leave from work?

If they have enough vacation time or enough money to take that time off without pay, I don't care.

I don't think it's up to us to tell a company how to run their business.

My Company does. SO and I work at the same place so we will both be getting 6 weeks off. I dont think that he will be taking the full 6 weeks off at one shot like I will...but he will take some as a lump some and then maybe the rest sporadically.

absolutely.

best scenario for homes with working moms... dad takes a week off when baby's born and then takes another 3-4 weeks off when mom goes back to work.  Keep baby out of daycare as long as humanly possible.

Women don't get paid maternity leave unless the company states it. I don't get paid time off.
