This appeared on ds's leg yesterday. I know it's a rash but what could it be from?

Is he wearing pampers cruisers? If so, they did a major recall because they were causing chemical burns.

Chafing from the diaper.  It happens.  Especially when it gets hot.  I am fighting a rash on DD now.

It can't be the diaper brand, he's used these since birth.

Quoting BaconQueen:

Really? It's from the diaper, more specifically, the elastic. Either he is having an allergic reaction to it or it is causing a sweat build up which then is chaffing and rubbing against his leg. Change diaper brands, check to make sure it is the proper size, and put some diaper rash cream and baby powder on him after cleaning the spot.

He was yesterday and earlier today. Now, no. It can't be rug burn, there's no way he could get rug burn.

Quoting StarLight23:

It actually looks like a rugburn. Is she acting like it's hurting her?

Yes but that was years ago and they've changed the diapers since then. We've never had a problem in almost 2 years.

Same pack same size same everything?

Just because they are manufactured by the same company does not mean the diapers are made the exact same way or with the same material (even if they have the same characters on the front). The amount of bowel movements, mobility, etc are taken into consideration as well as the expected time the child would be spending in them which impact the absorbancy, etc. It's the diaper. Whether he is in the wrong size, or is having a reaction to the elastic etc. YOUR job as a parent is to make sure HE is taken care of, and if that means switching sizes or brands than DO IT

There was just another recall in August. Now the box I have hasn't caused any problems, I think you can look up the lot numbers.
