This is real. Alvin isd is a school district in a suburb of Houston. My friends child got this assignment and she posted it on fb and then on the fox fb page where they posted it along with the background info.


UPDATE:

I couldn't copy and paste so I took a screen shot of what she said, cropped out her name and posted it.

VERY inappropriate to ask a 7th grader to write what they would think and feel and say in that situation. Why would you make children think about death like that? Fucking morbid.

For one of my assignments in school I had to write an obituary for my self.

I find it totally inappropriate. I get that the teacher wanted to incorporate a history and writing lesson but it could've been handled totally differently. Like writing a letter to a soldier fighting in Afghanistan.
