Kid A decides to buy some kind of milkshake for $2. Since is buy 1 get 1 for 99 cent kid B want one as well.

Kid B only wants to pay 99 cent and kid A says they should both pay half - $1.50 each - since kid B would not have gotten the "deal" without her. Kid B says that it would not make a difference to kid A since she would get the drink regardless.

Kids can fight over the smallest things. Who do you think is right?

Tell both kids to figure it out.  Otherwise, they either both pay 1.99, or they don't get the milkshake.

They pool thier money to get two milkshakes for $1.50 each, or buy them seperate for $2.00.

Kid B would either have to go without or pay on their own the $2.00. So he is getting a deal at $1.50. Kid A is getting one no matter what. So Kid A.

Or kid A gets both milkshakes and drinks them because kid B won't pony up $1.50.

I think kid a is right. If kid B doesn't like it, then he can buy his own on a seperate transaction and pay the full price:)
