Grocery money gangster, lol!

Dh gives me x,y,z for groceries and it gets skimmed. X goes straight into savings.

What do you do to help your family save?

I work too, but that's besides the point. He gives me too much for food, so I save it!

Why don't you guys just have a savings account and set an amount. .. why hide the savings?

I work part time and all that money goes into a savings account.  I also try to buy clothing and such that is on sale.  Other than that not much.

Nothing really. We don't really need to "save".... We have a separate account for our son that has 5,000 in it that he can't touch til he's 18. When he turns 1 5,000 more will go in

I write our grocery check for $10 over and stash the cash for Christmas shopping.

I do that too!! We have a savings account but I also take all the singles i find and stash them,.  I have a big stash in the house that he knows nothing about.  Im a sahm so this is kinda like my own personal savings god forbid something were to ever happen,

I wouldn't skim my grocery money.
When my husband gets paid, the first thing I do is put half of it in savings.

I can get $10-20 every time I do hubby's laundry. Its all in change, but when he cleans out his pockets he gives it to me anyway. He's a truck driver so he doesn't always have time to count out the exact amount when he's checking out, just tossing a bill on the counter usually lol
