Slight spin off:
Another poster said that parents shouldn't move in with their children.
Something along the lines of "children don't owe their parents anything".
This was regarding a post about a mother moving in with her son because of financial hardship.
Do you agree with this statement?
I owe my parents so much; from the decades of emotional support, being my cheerleader, paying for college, helping us get financially set, the oodles of money they've spent on our child . . . .
I OWE THEM.
And if they ever needed a home or my emotional support, I am there to figure that out with them.
EDIT: The thing is, my parents are awesome. There are so many facets of my life that I feel wouldn't have happened if I did not have their emotional and monetary support. I couldn't have done my early life on my own at all.
Those who had bad childhoods and craptastic parents.....I can 100% understand why you would feel that you don't owe your parents anything.
