Help with Halloween Ideas!

I have a parent meeting for my son's HeadStart class. During this meeting one of the things we do is plan for celebrations. This next meeting will be to help plan a celebration for halloween. I need some ideas. Remember these kids are only 4-5 years old.

My Ideas:

Wear costumes (duh lol)

Pumpkin carving, or if its too messy then pumpkin decorating (buy those cute mini pumpkins and draw on them, glue, sprinkles, etc).

And cupcake decorating like pictured below:

Any other idea we could use? Its going to be like a small party for kids kinda thing I guess. IDK ive never done something like this.

Painting the pumpkins was a huge hit in our house when our kids were that age. Safer and cleaner than carving. Lots of fun and silly halloween books to have a fun storytime. How about glueing cotton balls and googly eyes on construction paper to make ghosts, or something to that effect. I'll keep thinking....
