You can call me stupid, but I truly do not know

How is the affordable care act (obamacare) going to change healthcare for those who already have private insurance? I'm told that it'll go up??

I'll be honest, I'm getting all our routine check-ups out of the way now before this takes full effect. Only because I don't know how it's going I change for us. We're all insured through DH's employer and are happy with just that.

Can someone give me a simple answer?

ours will go up 25% next month. that is not dictated by obamacare, but is likely in large part caused by it.

That's what I don't understand? Why would they punish those who do have healthcare? Luckily, none of us have major health issues, so we really only use it for regular check-ups.

Right? That's why we did our annual physicals last week, will do our eyes and dental check-ups next week. Just get it done with bc I don't know what's going to happen.

I'm pretty confused too. From what I can understand it will be like car insurance kind of, but that's all I got.

We have Amry Tricare, so it doesn't really effect us much

Because the government wants as much control of your life as possible.

My insurance went down so those blanket statements that "insurance will go up" are not true.

Depending on your husband's employer and the type of insurance you have as well as what state you live in, you may or may not see an increase or decrease.
