I was thought to be flirty, just because I'm equally nice to guys and girls at work

I think people are more polite today than they were in the 50's and 60's. I mean if you had down syndrom in the  50's you were forced to live in an institution usually.  Also if you were black you weren't allowed in some places. So I think "these days" people are more polite.

today that is known as racial and politically correct equality, not politeness....

Ugh, I know guys who do this! One in particular is ALWAYS thinking other Women are giving him "signals."

I'm super polite at work. I've developed my "customer voice" and call people Ma'am, Sir, or Hun. I get nicer customers, but get hit on constantly.
