watching cnn and they are talking about the navy yard shooting and even the Newton shooting, the aurora shooting ect

but not one word about Chicago, where 12?13? people were shot in a park.

why don't those lost lives count? why wasn't that mentioned alongside all the other mass shootings?

I don't know about CNN, but I've seen the Chicago shooting covered quite a bit on other media outlets.

I know shootings aren't the same thing but where is the national televised fundraiser for Colorado that has thousands displaced and towns in habitable.

because it's "old news". people are shot pretty much every day in Chicago.

I'm from there and I completely agree that it's ridiculous, the violence has to stop, but that's probably why it hasn't been more of a major headline.

Because that's every day here in Chicago. And everyone on the South Side KNOWS how fucking dangerous it is, expecially after dark, and they still choose to have their kids out in gang territory at all hours. It's common sense. It doesn't compare with children sitting in a classroom or people at work and a random shooter somes barging in in broad daylight.

Might want to talk to good ol' Rahm about that.

Because thats "expected" of Chicago- sad as it is.

The media only reports on stuff that will give them more views. They dont care about real news... It's why I dont watch it.

Agreed. There have already been 1,600 other shootings in Chicago this year, so it's kind of par for the course.

Also, black-on-black violence doesn't usually make headlines.
