OK now that I have your attention DD just woke up and our usual is to let her watch a cartoon so she can wake up and I can get lunch ready for her.

She asked to watch Pingu.  I was sitting and watching it with her and I have to say I don't think I am going to let her watch it again.  The beginning scene left me a bit...well horrified.  Pingu is sitting at the dinner table throwing a fit over having to eat his veggies.  So he starts acting up and ends up knocking everything off the table.  The father yells at Pingu as his mother is spanking him.  Umm...hello child abuse!  After Pingu is done being punished he goes outside where he yells angrily at his parents and then wanders off.  His parents don't even notice he is gone until it is past 9 pm.

Is it just me or does anyone else see an issue with this cartoon?

It is on Netflix.  She loves anything that has birds in it and saw that.  Yeah I don't think this will be one she gets to watch anymore.

I've never heard of that show. I at first thought you were talking about Pokoyo, but he doesn't have parents.

I have no idea who or what a Pignu is, but spanking isn't childing abuse.

Yelling at your child while spanking him or her is abuse.  Emotional mainly.

My daughter likes pingu! I have watched it with her before and never saw an issue other than it being annoying that they don't talk, they just make noises.

I must have missed that one. Strange.

I would let my kid watch it just so I can say, hey at least you don't parents like that! Consider yourself lucky!
