Why did the hospital make me put her in THEIR outfit?

I just remembered how when my DD was born, the hospital made us put her in one of their outfits! I asked if I could put her in the one I bought her (I was excited to finally put all those baby clothes to use!) and they said no! At the time, I didn't think to ask why. But now I'm confused as to why they would have me do that.

My hospital does it as a way to make it easier on the nurses in the nursery.

It thinks it because if something were to happen, they cut it off quicker.

There is no nursery at my hospital. She was with me the WHOLE time

So that they don't mix clothes up and lose them

Probably because it was too much trouble to strip her/him down to a diaper every time they had to check vitals. It's unnecessary IMO to put a full outfit on them.

Yeah, but as I posted before, she was with me the whole time from the moment she was born

It takes a lot more time to pop them out of a full set of clothes rather than a simply onsie.

*If you read my post and there are mistakes in my spelling or grammar please note that I never learned either in school and I am currently learning them now. Who watched her when you showered?
If they deliver babies, they have a nursery.

I think it is because some new moms are crazy, and get pissed off if the new out fit gets dirty or lost.
