SHE GAVE MY FIVE MONTH OLD WATER!!!!

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post

I'm freaking out a little bit, waiting for the pediatrician to get back from lunch so I can call.  Our housekeeper brought her 17 year old daughter with her today, and nothing out of the ordinary, I went to the bank (five minutes away) while my housekeeper watched my son.  Now we've had conversations and I'm very clear that he's EBF.  When I got back, the 17 year old had taken my son out of his swing and had given him about four ounces of water!  He seems fine but I'm so worried.  Someone tell me he's going to be fine.....I can't believe that my housekeeper allowed this to happen.  I feel like I can't trust her anymore.

You must be a first time mom. You really put a call into the pediatrician for that?

Babies are not supposed to have water. His electrolyte levels can be messed up from that. However, four ounces is the max that a baby can have. So he will be fine. Just make sure her daughter is never around your baby again unless she knows she is not to give him water again.
Unless you're a troll. This smells kind of troll-ish.

Really? Really? Are you people on crack? It's water, not vodka. Good grief.

WHerever you read that, they were wrong. Tap water is the only water that is monitored byt he FDA and tested regularly, bottled and filtered are not. Also, tap water has flouride in it that is helpful in teeth developement. Tap water is best for kids.

I read it's not good to give tap water to babies before 6 months old...

What exactly do you think is going to happen to him lol?
