Constipation remedies for a 3 month old

Posted by   + Show Post
My three month old has been straining to poop all day. She's absolutely miserable. Anyone have any ideas? I'm going to pick up some suppositories, if they don't work I'll take her to the dr tomorrow.

Update: she finally went, and passed out right after on my shoulder. And I want to cry now, she started bleeding, and screaming even more from pain before it was all over. :-(

Yon shouldn't give corn syrup to babies, it's dangerous.

For Gods sake don't let the housekeepers kid give him water.

I thinka little karo would do it.

I breastfed both mymkids. I didnt know that formula could do that. Maybe try a new formula

Quoting kdjdod081013:

My oldest did starting around this time, it was her formula. I'm thinking this May be the same thing. I just don't remember anything but Miralax and suppositories (both with her drs guidance)

It's not abnormal for my youngest to go a day without pooping, it is however abnormal for her to try and not be able to.

3 month old shouldnt be having issues yet. I would call the doctor now

Karo syrup worked for my little ones, my parents tild me about it and said something about too much iron in the formula and went into a whole back in my day kinda thing...BUT the karo was awesome

I used the fleet baby enema glycerin bulbs with dd at about that age. Her poops were huge and hard and she just needed some... Well, lubrication. Just a small portion of the little bulb's worth of liquid was enough. Had a hard time finding them, but they worked well.

The next option get her is Alimentum.

Poor baby. She's had tummy issues from the start :-(
