How much money left over?

I am curious. After your bills are paid (rent/mtg, utilities, insurance, etc) how much do you have left over to budget for daily expenses like food, gasoline, recreation, clothes, etc?

I just found out I am losing my job. I think we can make it on DH's salary alone if we budgeted. After all bills were paid we would have just over $1400 left over to cover the rest of our expenses.

 *losing

And we have roughly that much left for food, gas, and extras per month right now, with both of us working.

I have about a thousand left over. I have no idea how it is spent though. I made a post about this today. I don't know where the money goes to.

I budget all those things, but my

mortgage, insurance, utilities alone are about 52% of our income.

Half of what was brought in, roughly.
