So, DD and i checked out some books several months ago, but they got lost.

we owe about 70 right now.

DD Finally found them burried in her room.

If we return them, do we still pay the fee? or will that take care of it?

You will have to pay the fees if you want to check out more books. Library rules are different so they might waive some of the fees. My library has one week a year when they waive all the fees on an account. You just have to ask what their rules are.

Depends on the fee. You will probably have to pay late charges but not the costs of the books.

You will owe late fees, but if they charged you replacement fees, those would go away.

Yep, you owe. I'm surprised they didn't send a bill to replace the books.

70...dollars? Whoa. How many books did you lose??

They might -MIGHT- drop the fee for replacing the books, if they havent gotten new ones already, but the late fee will stand.

Ahh I understand, its the latefees, not the books themselves?

Ok then.

but once we return the books, the cost of the books will fall off and it will just be the late fees right?

$70 sounds like the cost to replace the books. It should be a lot less.
