Induction

I was induced 2 days before my due date. I was already dilated 3cm. The doctor asked me if I wanted to wait it out or be induced and schedule for a day that be would be able to deliver- so I Chose that option. I didn't ask too many questions which I should have. This was well over a year ago, might I add. He broke my water at 7:30am, I can't remember when he started pitocin, I had an epi at noon and didn't deliver until almost midnight. Now I'm reading that it's unsafe to induce labor unless medically necessary. I was healthy and had a great pregnancy, I did test positive for the group b strep. My son was born happy and healthy. What risks did I face that day?

Any time you take medication or have a procedure done, there are risks.

I don't understand just not waiting the short amount of time.

I was induced with my last 2 just because I wanted to.had a healthy pregnancy.a risk comes with everything.i will take being induced over natural labor any day.i was in labor for 55hrs with my 1st before she was born.then 14 with ds (1st induction) and 5with my last.and you faced the same risks any women faces in labor

I was induced for medical reasons. It's not something I would ever do again and I'm praying with this pregnancy I won't

I was induced with my first two. Done for what I guess would be convenience both times. First was so my husband could fly in for the birth. Second was because I was 4 hours away from the hospital. Both went without a hitch. First was born after 10 hours of labor, second was 5 hours. I'm 38 weeks with number 3 tomorrow, and so far so good. No reason to induce yet, but I wouldn't be scared if it had to happen.
